-This is the prototype, also used for official works photography

-First registered in the UK 20/08/1962

-This ex-works car was used daily by Mr. T. Cotton between 1970 and 1973. Sold in 'absolutely complete condition, only in

  need of repainting', as per letter of Mr. Cotton. Mr. Cotton sold her in March 1973 to Peter Carr of Cambridge. The car 

  was described in a road test in 'Small Car'. Peter wrote: 'assuming journalistic accuracy it had grey upholstery- it now 

  was red!'. Also the engine was worn beyond repair and was replaced by a 1725cc. It also received an all-synchro 

  transmission.

-Completely restored and changed non-original metallic gold color back into original metallic silver grey

HISTORY AND DETAILS:

This vehicle was originally registered in Italy on April 20th, 1964 by Mr. Giovanni Scolana of Torino, Italy. The license plate at that time was TO 623084. He sold it to Mr. Vincenzo Simoni of Putignano on Febr. 1st, 1975.

Thereafter, it was sold to a company called Val de Luna Srl. of Milano/Varese on the 27th January, 1996.

According to information, it was then 'restored' and painted dark blue. New wire wheels were fitted and probably, the interior was refurbished. It eventually ended up in a private Italian museum.

In august 1998 the car was auctioned in the Brooks Car Auction at the Nurburgring and sold to a Dutch collector. It was

acquired by the present owner in January 2000.

Although the car was in a perfectly useable condition, it was decided to properly preserve the car. Initially, a 'running

restauration' was planned, but a closer look revealed a lot of rust, particularly in the steel floor sections, and in some of the steel tubing of the Superleggera frame. A photo series of the ongoing restoration can be seen in the Restoring Venezias section.

Restoration finalised December 2016, finetuning undertaken.

 -This is the only known Venezia Convertible. Sig. Anderloni confirmed that Touring never built a Venezia Convertible, so         this must be a private conversion. Interesting!
